My Room

The place I called home here in Qatar... I wanted to write about my new life in Qatar. Eversince I am here I have to literally start my life all over again... a life of an Expatriate. Back in Malaysia when I saw Westerners working there, I start to think aren't we Malaysian good enough that we have to employ expatriate? Unlike here the population are small and most of the people who work here help in the development of this nation. So I became one of them.

Unlike in Malaysia, there is nothing much to see here, so you have to make yourself occupied. So far that I am here, I know I can survive. Lots of things for me to do here. I plan to take up Arabic lesson and master my photography. Maybe I will start to pick up music...

I decided to stay on at the hotel for another 4 months till I get a better place. I am quiet comfortable here since there will be housekeeping to do my bed and toilet. My only problem is my laundry and cooking. But I guess I have to make do with what I have. No complains...

To share with you about my life.. here it is...

My mini library, safe and mini wardrobe for my socks... Books here are expensive at least 2-3 times more than Malaysia.

My food stock. With the food insyallah I can survive for at least 2 weeks. It is difficult to move around here without a transport. May be soon I will not face this problem when I buy a car.

Not to forget some spices Oregano and Rosemary to add some life in my room. That is the cheapest plants I can afford. It only costs me QR15. A Money Plant which cost us only RM 5 in IKEA cost us QR40 here at Carefour. I guess plants are luxury items here in Qatar.

Reminds me of my University days where music has kept me alive. LG Mini Hi Fi just cost me QR650 on sale. It has DVD/CD, USB and Radio. At least it will keep me company while I am here...
