Museum of Islamic Art, Doha Qatar

It is a blessing that there was a power breakdown in the office today that we have been released early. Initially, I wanted to go to the Car Wash but since it was early because it will only open at 3.00 pm, I decided to go to the Museum of Islamic Art near Corniche hopefully it will be done in an hour.

My first look at the architecture of the building, I find it too simple but when I get closer I find it very fascinating and exciting especially to the detailings. I must salute the Architect I. M Pei. He really had done a good job and his detailing were incredible. I remembered going to the another museum in Washington which was also design by him.

The admission is free, open Wednesday to Monday 10:30 - 17:30 (Friday 14:00 - 20:00). Closed on Tuesday. It is also closed on first day of Eid and Chirstmas. You can contact the museum at www.mia.org.qa.

No video cameras are allowed but cameras are allowed and you can take pictures inside the building.

So what supposed to be one hour visit ended up to be 2 and half hours. I really enjoy it and recommend you to go.

I love plants and the plants here are expensive as compared to Malaysia. I used to buy Money Plant at IKEA for less than RM5 but here in Carrefour it costs me QAR 45. Since I need fresh oxygen in my room I bought one to add to my mini garden in my room...

MAQ Gathering @ Malaysian Embassy

30 Januari 2009 - 6.30 pm Venue Malaysian Embassy, Qatar. Begitu la catatan tertera di website Malaysian Association of Qatar (MAQ). Bagus juga berpersatuan ni sekurang-kurang dapat mengeratkan ukhuwah sesama islam serta suaikenal sesama rakyat Malaysia yang berada di perantauan.

Ramai juga yang turut hadir berbilang bangsa rakyat Malaysia. Program di anjurkan oleh MAQ berhasrat untuk memperkenalkan MAQ dan aktivi MAQ ke pada rakyat Malaysia yang baru sampai ke Qatar.

Beberapa program telah di atur, antara yang menarik ialah 4WD @ sand dune dan juga program umrah bagi orang islam. Sound interesting. Tidak ketinggalan kutipan derma untuk Gaza.

Sempat juga berkenalan dan beramah mesra dengan Duta Besar Malaysia ke Qatar dan beberapa orang pegawai kedutaan.

My Office

My office is a mixed of all Nationalities We have Lebanese, Malawian, Malaysian, Iraqian, American, Pinoy, Australian, Indian & Napelese. We are planning to move to a new office soon as the office now is currently packed. So for those of you whom would like to see the view of my office here it is... Sometimes I feel working in United Nation where you have people of different Nationalities working together in peace and harmony....

Beverly Hills Ar Rayan

I skipped my Lunch just to view the new apartment in Ar-Rayyan. Me, Dent & Real had to do the same. It took us about 30 mintues to get there since we don't really know where it is. IWe finally managed to find our way through. It is along the Ar-Rayyan road and t is a gated self contained development to be equipped with swimming pool, gym, tennis court, gorcery stores etc.

Waleed the sales agent showed us the Villa. It has 4 spacious room double storey with a courtyard at the back of the unit and it costs is QAR 20K only. Well if I could get 4 person to share, I only pay QAR 5K each. It is too much for me eventhough I love to live there. I viewed the 2 Bedroom apartment unit, the finishes and the setting is nice. I love it as well. If I can find someone to share it will be fine or else I will probably stay there alone and perhaps it will be easier for my family to come and visit me. The price is QAR9.5K. Hai kalau kat Malaysia dah duduk kat Kenny hills dah. I will do istiqarah before I decide whether to move or not. What say you as the place I am staying now is QAR 7K and it doesnt' have a kitchen and also washing machine.

Another highlight for Norshahrom during PM's visit to Dubai. Confirm la lepas ni dapat tittle Datuk. Jangan lupa jemput aku untuk kenduri Doa Selamat sudah la.

Kelas Bahasa Arab

Hari ni dah 5 kali saya hadir kelas bahasa arab di Al Fanar. Memandangkan saya masuk di Level 1, saya belajjar balik dari mengenal huruf-huruf macam belajar muqadam. Tapi ada juga belajar perkataan dan mengenal benda bagi setiap huruf tersebut.

Di dalam kelas, kami berbilang bangsa dan agama, antaranya Melayu ( saya la dan sahabat dari Singapura), India& Pakistan( paling ramai) dan ada juga mat salleh, Aaron dari South Africa dan seorang lagi dari Greece.

Guru kami berbangsa arab berasal dari Syria bernama Okla. teknik pengajaran dia bagus dan senang faham. Kadang-kala ada seorang lagi guru secara suka rela mengajar kami kalau Okla berehat sebentar. Maklumla mereka ni adalah guru sambilan bukan sepenuh masa. Siang hari bekerja dan malamnya mengajar memandangkan kos hidup di sini agak tinggi.

Tapi nampak kedua-duanya amat ikhlas mengajar kamu. Mengajar dengan bersungguh-sungguh dan penuh ceria. Okla pernah berkata, I be the happiest person if all of you can speak arabic well. Patut sikap macam tu la sepatutnya ada pada setiap pendidik kita di Malaysia.

Mungkin ini la saham akhirat mereka.... Bila tengok Cikgu bersungguh-sungguh, murid pun belajar bersemangat....

Happy Birthday Nur Batrishya

12 tahun yang lalu pada hari ini ialah hari yang amat mencemaskan buat Daddy dan Mummy kerana hari tu la angah lahir ke dunia ni... dan di sambut oleh daddy sendiri. Mungkin salah Daddy juga minta yang bukan-bukan di bulan puasa dan ternyata Allah makbulkan. Niat Daddy agar anak yang Daddy sambut sendiri menjadi anak yang bijak... menurut pakar motivasi yang Daddy dengar di TV.

Mungkin dengan sebab itu Daddy rasa Angah ni special sikit fasal lahir Daddy yang sambut. Dari kecil Angah tak banyak kerenah dan senang di jaga... Angah tau tak bila Angah kecil-kecil Angah dah mula isap jari... Tapi Daddy tak bagi. Tiap kali Angah isap Daddy tak bagi... tapi Mummy biarkan aje... Mummy kata kalau dia hisap jari dia baik... Tapi ianya dah jadi tabiat kan... So jangan salahkan Daddy kalau tabiat tu lekat sampai sekarang...

Daddy ingat lagi masa Angah mula-mula pergi ke sekolah darjah satu. Mummy kata di sekolah tak boleh hisap jari... tapi sebaik saja Angah masuk kereta ... hmm tau-tau aje la kan tak payah nak cerita.

Tahun ini ada lah tahun yang penting bagi Angah di mana Angah akan menduduki peperiksaan UPSR. Memang lah penat, letih susah dsb... Tapi Angah kena ingat tak de benda di dunia ni yang senang. Kita kena lalui kesusahan untuk mengecapi nikmat sesuatu kejayaan. Di dunia ni orang yang berjaya adalah orang yang berilmu. Dan Angah kena betulkan niat Angah ke sekolah ialah untuk menuntut ilmu sebanyak mungkin. Kelak dengan ilmu yang Angah perolehi itu boleh memunafaatkan insan sejagat..

You have to remember you can be whoever you want to be. Nothing is impossible. All you need to do is to have a Dream and have a Goal in life, visualize your dream and work hard on it. dan buatla kerja dengan seikhlas mungkin. Daddy cakap ni pun melalui pengalaman. Dulu masa Daddy kecil-kecil macam Angah Daddy teringin sangat nak pergi overseas. Masa tu uncle anjah yg bekerja dengan MISC berpeluang mejelajah ke serata dunia. Bila tengok gambar dia teringin sangat nak pergi ke tempat-tempat itu. Masa itu jauh di sudut hati Daddy berkata insyaallah satu hari Daddy akan sampai juga.

Allah yang maha kaya mengaturkan hidup kita akhirnya segala impian Daddy itu tercapai Alhamdulillah.

Dan kini mungkin Angah rasa rindu fasal Daddy tak de nak celebrate birthday Angah kali ini. Maafkan Daddy tapi ketahui la sebenarnya ini semua adalah satu pengorbanan seorang Ayah untuk masa depan anak-anaknya....

So sempena ulang tahun angah yang ke 12 tahun, Daddy nak ucapkan Selamat hari jadi moga di kuatkan iman, di murahkan rezeki, di panjangkan umur, sihat tubuh badan, di jadikan anak yang solehah dan berjaya dengan cemerlang dalam UPSR amin insyaallah.

Search for An Accomodation

For the past two weeks I have started to look for a new accomodation from apartments to villa as my tenancy in Ezdan will be expiring by mid March 2009. I started to look at the papers and also the Qatar Living.

So I called one villa in West Bay and this was my first destination. The location is strategic, near to school, Malaysian Embassy and also my site. But when I view the room, I could not imagine me staying there. The area is spacious with just a plywood partition to create a room, toilet and kitchen?? with QAR 7250 I think it is not worth if I were to compare with Ezhan where I am currently paying QAR 6950 complete with Electricity, Water, Internet, Gym, Swimming Pool and house keeping changing and cleaning the room. My benchmark will obviously better from the current place.

2nd place a 2 Bedroom unfurnished in Madina Khalifa with a price tag QAR 6500, Unfurnished only with Air condition. No stove, washing machine bed etc... If i were to fit out the building it will probably cost me about QR 10K - 20 K. But the thing is I have to go and buy and start dealing with the authority for electricity, water and internet... So this will definitely be no.

3rd place a 2 Bedroom fully furnished in Bin Omran. The apartment is nice and complete but it is beyond my budget QAR 10000 a month without electricity, water and internet. I have to subscribe with the authority. There is gym, swimming pool and car park are available. This may be an option if I can share the apartment but to share with a stranger is something take I can't anticipate the outcome especially on the share mate reaction if my family comes once in a while.

Finally I contacted Ezdan on the availability of rooms in Ezdan. I finally narrowed down my choices to either Executive Suite (QAR 9300) or Standard Room Suite (QAR 9150). the only different the Executive Suite has kitchen equipment and washing machine but small whereas the Standar Room Suite has a bigger room but not kitchen equipment and washing machine. I am still undecided which one to choose. May be I will make my decision once I view the rooms. Highly likely I will stay on in Ezdan...

Rain in Doha

Today Friday it rains for the first time in year 2009. The last time was in December last year. It was heavy then... It was late to the mosque today and it was drizzling.. Since the mosque was full, I thought I like to pray in the rain during this unusual occassion in Qatar.. Alhamdulillah...

The Secrets

I watched the video of The Secrets earlier and thought I should buy the book. I bought the secret recently and interestingly enough it talks about the secret about life, law of attraction which make me want to share with my fellow bloggers. As a person, I also experienced similar things in my life... It is a coincidence or it proves there is one greatess power that govern us... As a muslim we believe that is Allah...

Maybe in the news few posts I will explained The Secrets and incidences that happened to me or persons that close to me and perhaps we can practise it in our daily life... So stay tune..

Recently, I saw in the newpaper there is a photography competition about Qatar. Thought of participating but unfortunately I didn't bring my tripod. So I didn't get the best of night pictures. Well the time is running out. I might not have sufficient time to have a good shot... Maybe next time perhaps...
